Go on a Hike

Grab your walking stick and fill your backpack up with plenty of fluids and trail mix and hit the trails! Explore the 18 miles of trails around the Chicago lakefront, or take a short drive out to Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in Darien and hike any of the 11 miles of marked trails to experience the Rocky Glen waterfall or Sawmill Creek Bluff Overlook. Either way, the kids will be tired out by the end of the day and ready for bed, giving you time to relax and enjoy some me-time spent on your porch or snuggled on the sofa. 

Play at the Park

Pack a picnic and head out for a day at the park! Soak up some of the spring sunshine at one of the many parks Burr Ridge and Chicagoland have to offer. Don’t forget to apply plenty of sunscreen! If it rains, there are also tons of indoor play options such as Ball Factory Playground or Urban Air Trampoline Park to keep the little ones active and entertained for hours.

Choose hands-on, interactive options like DuPage Children’s Museum, or step back in time and explore science and history through the ages at Field Museum in Chicago.
